Definitions & Scope of Supply

Clarifications on structural ratings, thermal performance, and code compliance for pre-engineered modular assemblies.

What does "self-supporting" mean for your site cabins?

Self-supporting means the cabin’s steel frame and integrated floor structure bear all static and dynamic loads without requiring a separate foundation or external bracing. The unit is designed to be placed on compacted ground or a simple gravel pad, with load distribution verified for a maximum ground bearing pressure of 150 kPa. No additional structural steelwork is needed for installation.

Which blast resistance standard do the modular units comply with?

All blast-resistant units are designed to meet the requirements of IS 4991 (1968) for blast loading, with a peak overpressure rating of 70 kPa (10 psi) and a positive phase duration of 30 ms. The structural response is elastic with limited ductility, ensuring no progressive collapse. Certification documentation is provided per unit batch, referencing the applicable clause of the national industrial safety code.

What is the thermal insulation matrix and how is it rated?

The rigid thermal insulation matrix consists of closed-cell polyisocyanurate (PIR) foam panels with a minimum density of 32 kg/m³, sandwiched between steel facings. The assembly achieves a U-value of 0.28 W/m²K, verified by in-house hot-box testing per IS 3346. The matrix is non-combustible as per IS 1642 and does not degrade under cyclic temperature exposure from -10°C to +55°C.

Are electrical and HVAC systems included in the pre-engineered scope?

Yes. Each unit is delivered with a pre-installed electrical distribution board (single-phase, 63 A), LED lighting, and two switched socket outlets. HVAC includes a split-type air conditioner rated at 2.5 kW cooling capacity, with the condenser mounted on an external bracket. All wiring and refrigerant lines are factory-run and tested. Plumbing is limited to a single water inlet and drainage outlet; internal wet areas are not included unless specified in the order.

What is the maximum stacking height for modular units?

Standard units are designed for two-high stacking when interlocked with proprietary corner connectors and vertical tie rods. The lower unit must be anchored to a level surface, and the combined wind load calculation must account for the local terrain category as per IS 875 (Part 3). Stacking beyond two units requires a structural review and additional bracing — this is not covered under the standard supply scope.

How are the units transported and what are the dimensional limits?

Each module is transported as a single lift on a flatbed trailer. Maximum external dimensions are 6.0 m (length) × 2.5 m (width) × 2.8 m (height) to comply with standard road transport regulations in India. Units exceeding these dimensions are shipped in knock-down form with on-site assembly instructions. Lifting lugs are rated for 2.5× the unit’s dead weight and are positioned at the four top corners.

Pre-Engineered Modular Capabilities

Heavy-duty site cabins and blast-resistant units designed for remote mining operations, with rigid thermal insulation matrices that comply with national industrial safety codes.

Blast-Resistant Structural Design

Steel-reinforced frames and multi-layer cladding engineered to withstand overpressure events in active mining zones. Each unit undergoes finite element analysis to verify load paths and deflection limits under blast loading.

Reduces risk of structural failure during site operations.

Rigid Thermal Insulation Matrix

Closed-cell polyisocyanurate core bonded between galvanized steel facings, achieving U-values below 0.28 W/m²K. The matrix eliminates thermal bridging and maintains interior stability in extreme ambient temperatures from -40°C to +55°C.

Lowers HVAC energy consumption by up to 35% compared to standard panels.

Self-Supporting Modular Frame

Pre-engineered column-and-beam system with bolted connections that requires no poured foundations or ground anchors. Units can be stacked two-high or arranged in side-by-side clusters on compacted gravel pads.

Enables deployment within 48 hours of site arrival.

Integrated Electrical & HVAC Pre-Installation

All wiring, switchgear, ductwork, and plumbing are factory-installed within the insulated cavity. Each unit arrives with a tested distribution board, LED lighting, and a split-system heat pump rated for continuous operation in dusty environments.

Eliminates on-site MEP coordination and reduces commissioning time.

National Industrial Safety Code Compliance

Designs are certified against IS 875 (wind loads), IS 1893 (seismic), and OISD-STD-164 for fire resistance. Blast-rated units meet UFC 3-340-02 for external blast loads up to 100 kPa peak overpressure.

Passes regulatory audits without costly field modifications.
